What
does "beachfront" or
"directly on the beach" mean? That
all depends who you are doing business with. At ADC Vacations,
when we say beachfront,
that is exactly what we mean. It is right here in black and
white (well, aqua blue at least). Our Florida Beach Rental
is not "across the
street" from or "a short" walk to the beach. We
have the pictures
to prove it. We are a townhouse occupying the second and third
floors of our building with nothing but 30 feet of landscaped
property between the building and the sand.
Most establishments are not lying
when they claim a property is beachfront or directly on the beach.
However, those terms are subject to interpretation. It
could represent anything from "walk out your back door and onto
the beach" to "down the street from the beach" or
"a beach view with a quarter mile walk to the beach".
Research establishments that offer
prices far below what other beachfront vacation rentals are
charging. Ask questions regarding what beachfront really
means. Do they offer a fully outfitted kitchen or a
kitchenette consisting of a small refrigerator and a
microwave? Is there an on-site pool? Is there an
elevator to the upper floors? There is certainly nothing wrong
with kitchenettes and properties that are down the street from the
beach. However, there are few letdowns worse than the reaching your
destination and finding out the accommodations are below
expectations. It
is just not worth disappointing yourself, or worse, your family.
